KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — The government will begin disbursing payments under Phase 3 of the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) programme tomorrow, benefiting 8.6 million Malaysians with an allocation of RM2 billion.

Eligible recipients will receive between RM150 and RM650, depending on income level and household status:
- Households earning RM2,500 or less: RM150–RM650
- Households earning RM2,501–RM5,000: RM150–RM300
- Senior citizens without spouses and single individuals: RM150
According to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), both existing and newly registered recipients in the STR database will get their payments either via direct bank transfers or cash disbursements at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), depending on eligibility.
The STR 2025 registration remains open year-round, enabling more Malaysians to apply for assistance. Applicants not listed in the database must submit their information for verification to confirm eligibility.
This year’s Phase 3 allocation is higher than last year’s RM1.7 billion, with aid for singles tripled to RM600 million in 2025.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the programme is “more than just cash aid”, positioning it as a step toward financial independence and greater equality.
