Penang’s comedy scene is about to get even livelier as Laugh Bites returns with its newest stand-up comedy showcase, “Wishmaker”, happening on 27 May 2026 in George Town.
Bringing together international comedians from across Europe, America, and Southeast Asia, the show promises a night filled with witty storytelling, cultural humor, spontaneous crowd work, and nonstop laughter.
Hosted at COEX @Kilang Besi within the popular Hin Bus Depot creative arts space, the comedy event is expected to attract both locals and visitors looking for a fun night out in Penang.
An International Comedy Lineup in Penang
Headlining the evening is Stefan Bobner, an Austrian comedian currently based in Bangkok who has performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia.
Known for his multilingual comedy style, Stefan previously founded Strasbourg’s first English-speaking comedy club and has become a regular performer on the Southeast Asian comedy circuit. His humor blends observational comedy, cultural experiences, and energetic storytelling that resonate with international audiences.
Joining him are comedians Harri and Zoltan.
Harri brings high-energy storytelling inspired by family life and fatherhood, while Zoltan offers a humorous perspective on travel, culture, and modern American life while touring around Asia.
The event will also be hosted by Garu, one of Penang’s most recognized comedians. The night will be extra special as Garu celebrates both his 38th birthday and 10 years in comedy during the event.
