Malaysia’s trail running scene is set to welcome an exciting new endurance event with the launch of the JELEBU ULTRA ECO CHALLENGE 2026 (JULTRA), an eco-adventure ultra race taking place in the lush wilderness of Negeri Sembilan.
Held from 17 to 18 October 2026 at Taman Negeri Kenaboi, JULTRA promises runners an unforgettable journey through rugged rainforest terrain, waterfalls, mountain peaks, and scenic jungle trails.
Organised by Pejabat Daerah Dan Perhutanan Jelebu together with N’Smilan Athletic Club, the event is expected to become one of Malaysia’s emerging trail-running highlights.
What Is JELEBU ULTRA ECO CHALLENGE 2026?
JULTRA 2026 is the first-ever ultra trail running event in Jelebu, created to promote outdoor sports, eco-tourism, endurance running, and nature appreciation in Negeri Sembilan.
Unlike city marathons, this race takes participants deep into untouched rainforest landscapes featuring:
- Steep elevation climbs
- Mountain ridges
- River crossings
- Jungle terrain
- Scenic waterfalls
- Technical trails
The route consists of approximately 90% trail and 10% tarmac, making it a physically demanding challenge suitable for experienced runners and adventurous beginners alike.
Conquer Negeri Sembilan’s Highest Peak
One of JULTRA’s biggest attractions is the opportunity to conquer Gunung Besar Hantu, the highest mountain in Negeri Sembilan at approximately 1,462 metres above sea level.
Known among hikers and trail runners for its challenging jungle terrain and rewarding summit views, Gunung Besar Hantu forms a major highlight of the 50KM ultra category.
Participants will also experience several natural attractions including:
- Lata Dinding
- Lata Kijang
- Bukit Dapur Moyang
These iconic eco-tourism spots add a scenic and adventurous dimension to the race experience.
