How to Change the Email Address on Your Google Account?
Gmail Users May Soon Be Able to Change Their Email Addresses
Google to Finally Let Users Change Their Gmail Address — Here’s How It Works
Google is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to change their Gmail email address—something that has long been unavailable for most accounts.
Your Google account is linked to several services you use every day, including Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos, so it’s important to learn how to manage it effectively. Our guide shows you how to change your default Google account.
Until now, Gmail addresses ending in @gmail.com were permanent, forcing users to create entirely new accounts if they wanted a different email name. With this update, eligible users may be able to update their Gmail address directly from their Google Account settings without losing their data, subscriptions, or linked services.
The feature is being introduced gradually and may not be available to all users right away. Availability can depend on account type, region, and whether the account is personal, work, or school-based.
