As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Malaysian Immigration Department has announced adjusted operating hours for its service counters nationwide. These changes ensure that services remain accessible while accommodating the needs of both staff and the public observing fasting during the sacred month.

Operation Hours for Immigration Counters

The operational hours vary by region, with adjustments for different states in Malaysia:

1. WP Putrajaya, WP Kuala Lumpur, WP Labuan, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Pulau Pinang, Johor, Sabah & Sarawak:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Friday Break Time: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM

2. Kelantan, Terengganu & Kedah:

  • Sunday to Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Thursday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Weekend Passport Issuance Counters

To accommodate the public’s travel needs, 15 passport issuance offices will remain open on weekends during Ramadan. These branches will operate on Saturdays from 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM at the following locations:

UTC Immigration Counter Operating Hours

For those requiring services outside of regular working hours, Urban Transformation Centres (UTCs) in all states will continue to operate daily (Monday – Sunday) from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
