The concert aims to bridge generations through music, highlighting how traditional sounds continue to inspire and evolve in today’s creative landscape.
Taksu Ritma: Pengembaraan Bermula
One of the main highlights of GETRA 4.0 is its original musical narrative titled “Taksu Ritma, Pengembaraan Bermula.”
Set in the 1990s, the story follows Arjuna, a young man deeply passionate about modern pop and rock music. Fascinated by Western influences, he begins to dismiss traditional Malay music as outdated and irrelevant.
Concerned about his growing disconnect from his cultural roots, Arjuna’s grandfather—a devoted advocate of traditional Malay music—attempts to guide him back toward appreciating the nation’s artistic heritage. Their differences eventually lead to conflict, causing Arjuna to leave home in frustration.
His journey takes an unexpected turn when he enters the mystical realm of the bunian, where he encounters Tok Selampit, a revered master of traditional music. Through magical melodies, rhythmic percussion, and timeless wisdom, Arjuna gradually discovers the beauty and significance of Malaysia’s musical heritage.
The performance combines drama, traditional music, and visual storytelling to deliver a powerful message about identity, heritage, and cultural preservation.
