FIFA 26 Countdown

From September 10 to 19, Visa cardholders (yes, that includes us Malaysians!) can jump into the Visa Presale Draw. This is your shortcut to getting tickets before the general sales madness begins. Pretty sweet, right?

So, how does this presale work?

  • First, you’ll need a FIFA ID. No FIFA ID yet? Don’t stress—just sign up on FIFA.com.
  • Between Sept 10–19, apply for the Visa Presale Draw using your FIFA ID.
  • If you’re lucky, you’ll get an email starting Sept 30 with your very own time slot in October to grab tickets.
  • And here’s the kicker: during this presale, Visa is the only way to pay. Simple, seamless, secure.

Why is this such a big deal?

Visa is not just about swiping cards—they’ve been FIFA’s Official Payment Technology Partner for nearly 20 years. At the launch event in Washington, D.C., leaders from Canada, Mexico, and the US (the three host countries) came together to celebrate. It’s more than football—it’s about community, culture, and the crazy energy this tournament brings.

And for us Malaysians? Previn Pillay, Visa Malaysia’s Country Manager, nailed it when he said football has this unmatched ability to unite us. Think about it—we scream, cheer, and cry together for 90 minutes straight. And now, we get a real shot at being part of that world stage.

What about the bigger picture?

Visa isn’t just focusing on fans. They’re also helping businesses in host cities get ready for the tourist tsunami that’s about to hit. From small street food vendors to boutique shops, the goal is to turn this World Cup into lasting growth, not just a one-time event.

Kim Lawrence, Visa’s Regional President of North America, even said it best—the presale isn’t just about tickets; it’s about communities, opportunities, and keeping the World Cup vibe alive long after the final whistle.

Quick facts to blow your mind 🤯

  • 48 teams (yep, more than ever before)
  • 104 matches across 39 days
  • Hosted in 16 iconic cities across the USA, Canada, and Mexico
  • First time in history that three nations are co-hosting the World Cup

Bottom line: Don’t miss this

Mark September 10 on your calendar. If you’ve got a Visa card and a FIFA ID, you’re already halfway there. This could be your chance to cheer for your favorite team live at the biggest World Cup ever.
