Tomorrowland to Make Asia Debut in Thailand in 2026

Bangkok: Thailand to Welcome Tomorrowland 2026, Asia’s First Mega EDM Festival. Belgium’s world-renowned electronic music festival Tomorrowland will debut in Thailand in 2026, marking the first time the event will be staged in Asia.

According to Tourism and Sports Minister of Thailand Sorawong Thienthong, Tomorrowland Thailand will be held each year from 2026 to 2030. The three-day festival will take place from Friday to Sunday, with the inaugural edition scheduled for December 2026 at Wisdom Valley in Chonburi Province.

The announcement was confirmed on 25 June by Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), following a high-level meeting in Bangkok between Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Tomorrowland CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers, and senior executive Filip Teerlinck.

“Tomorrowland will be hosted in Thailand for the first time in 2026,” Thapanee said, highlighting the milestone moment for the nation’s music and tourism industries.

Thailand as a Global Event Hub

The festival’s arrival builds on plans launched under former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to position Thailand as a premier global event destination.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn stressed that Thailand’s role goes beyond hosting:

“This is an opportunity to spotlight Thai artists, energise our music industry, and set a new standard for hosting global concerts in Thailand. It’s a turning point in our journey to becoming a true world event destination.”

The government has pledged to weave Thai cultural elements into the festival while ensuring strong local participation so that domestic communities benefit directly from the event.

Economic and Cultural Impact

In a social media post after the meeting, the Prime Minister wrote: “Tomorrowland in Thailand is closer to reality.” She emphasised the wider economic opportunities:

“This is not just about having fun. It is a new opportunity for Thailand to grow through new income sources, new creative industries, and new platforms for Thai artists.”

A Global Music Phenomenon

Tomorrowland, founded in Belgium, is celebrated for its world-class DJs, massive stage productions, and immersive festival atmosphere. Each year, the event attracts hundreds of thousands of music fans from around the globe, bringing in significant tourism revenue to its host destinations.

Tomorrowland is officially coming to Thailand in December 2026, with Chonburi confirmed as the festival location, just 1 to 1.5 hours from Bangkok. The Tourism Authority of Thailand announced a minimum 5-year commitment, signaling a major push to position the country as a global cultural destination. Tens of thousands of fans are expected to join the three-day celebration as Tomorrowland makes its debut in Asia.

With its 2026 debut, Thailand will become the first Asian nation to welcome the festival, further cementing its reputation as a rising hub for international entertainment and large-scale cultural experiences.
