Celebrate the 79th Birthday of His Excellency the Yang di-Pertua Negeri (TYT) of Sarawak with a day full of excitement and festivities at Padang Merdeka, Kuching!
A star-studded Konsert Rakyat will take centre stage at Padang Merdeka here on Oct 11 in conjunction with the 79th official birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

The celebration at Padang Merdeka, Kuching, on Saturday, October 11, 2025 is the highlight of the Sarawak Governor’s Birthday Celebrations.
🌞 Morning: Istiadat Perbarisan & Rapat Raksasa
On Oct 11, the Parade and Grand Assembly at Padang Merdeka will be held at 8am, featuring over 100 contingents from government departments, enforcement agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and community associations, involving an estimated 10,000 participants and spectators. Later in that morning, the investiture ceremony will take place at Astana Negeri Sarawak.
The four-day programme will begin on Oct 9 with a thanksgiving prayer at Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak, followed by a multi-faith thanksgiving service at Imperial Hotel Kuching on Oct 10.
Abdul Karim encouraged the public to join the festivities, especially the parade in the morning and the concert at night on Oct 11.
